EDISON, N.J. (WABC) — A Facebook post from a woman hoping to cheer up her father turned into an entire parade involving more than 120 cars Saturday in Edison.

Kate Streep hoped a handful of vehicles would show up to entertain her father, a classic car enthusiast and Vietnam veteran who lives at Menlo Park Veterans Home.

Since Streep’s father has Parkinson’s disease and uses a wheelchair, it’s been a long time since she was able to take him to a car show.

Streep was stunned when she saw how many people responded to her request.

“Wonderful, wonderful – I couldn’t believe… I thought I might have three people, maybe – but to see so many people, I mean I got a little choked up “said Streep.

She says her dad doesn’t talk much these days, but she could see his eyes light up as cars passed.
