Hot on the heels of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, organizers of a vintage car show have promised another royal-caliber celebration.

On Sunday, June 12, hundreds of veteran, classic, sport and hot rod vehicles will be at Ripon Racecourse for the 23rd Ripon Classic Car and Bike Show.

Hosts of the Great British Motor Shows will be bringing a host of machinery to the event, from kit compact cars and classic Austin 7s to motorcycles, vans, classic commercials, 4x4s, ex-military vehicles and modern supercars.

Club stands will include the North East Volkswagen Audio Group, Corvette Club, Mercedes SLK Club and American Car Shows, while the arena will feature parades, displays and expert commentary, as well as the famous jumble automobile.

New activities include a scavenger hunt, free for all participating children, to spot vehicle badges, logos and quirky details throughout the show.

Organizer Steve Bishop said: “It’s a double celebration this year as everyone is thrilled to have the show back after two years in the garage. Like the Queen, we celebrate heritage and longevity – and just like her racehorses, we also have truly thoroughbred power under starter’s orders.

The event runs from 10am to 4pm, with entry priced at £8.50 per adult and £3 for children. Dogs on a leash are welcome.
