An attempt to cross a deep ford in a classic car did not go well for a filmed driver.
Uploaded by user @bengregers on TikTok, the video shows a 1929 Morris Oxford trying to cross water.
The vintage open-top engine is driven by a man who appears to have his son with him in the passenger seat.
Judging by the hashtags on the video, it’s Rufford Ford in Nottinghamshire, who claimed multiple engines, many of which were caught on camera and shared online.

The video is shot using a smartphone from a side bank and begins to show the Morris making its way through the water.
Compared to other social media videos of the ford, the water doesn’t seem that deep.
So it seems strange that the Morris driver would hit the water at such high speed, sending water into his radiator.
The old car stops halfway as steam comes out of its engine.
The driver tries to get it running again, but gives up and gets out to inspect the problem.
There was a mixture of confusion and concern for the old engine in the comments.
One said: “The saddest thing I’ve seen 😢”
Another said: “Why does everyone think you have to go fast lmao 🤣”
Another: “All he had to do was go really slow and it wouldn’t have happened.”
While a fourth said: ‘I hope he knows how to rebuild the engines because there’s no way this thing can be scrapped.’
